Harry Potter Day is happening on 17 October 2024. Each of the four City of Gosnells libraries is hosting a special event across the week, so we've had to change Harry Potter Day to Harry Potter Days to fit it all in!

This year's theme is Care of Magical Creatures.  The wizarding world is full of magical creatures from majestic Hippogriffs, unicorns and dragons to the light-fingered Niffler and venomous Doxy, also known as the biting fairy (one to avoid!). Our libraries will be presenting a magical menagerie of events for young wizards with more information coming soon.

What is Harry Potter Book Day?

Harry Potter Book Day is a fun celebration of J.K. Rowling’s iconic series. Fans around the globe have a chance to share their love for the wizarding world with events, parties and other festivities. Previously Harry Potter Book Night, this special day was created by Bloomsbury, publisher of the Harry Potter book series. Each year, the City of Gosnells Library Services runs various events and activities to join in the celebration of one of the most popular book series in our collection.
