The sale of food from a temporary food stall or mobile food business in a public place must comply with the City of Gosnells Thoroughfares and Public Places Local Law 2021.
The approval of a temporary food vendor is subject to compliance with the City’s Health Service Guideline for Construction and Conditions of Approval for Temporary Food at One (1) Day Functions.
Note: All food businesses must be registered by their local government authority unless they are an Exempted Food Business under the Food Regulations 2009.
Exempted Food Businesses – A Community or Charitable Organisation that is selling either low risk, shelf stable food (e.g. confectionary, soft drinks) or food which is thoroughly cooked onsite for immediate consumption (e.g. sausage sizzle).

Traders
A Permit Application is no longer required to trade at events held within the City of Gosnells, however your business must be registered under the Food Act 2008. You will also need to seek permission from the event organiser prior to the event and obtain an invite to trade at the event. The event organiser is responsible for notifying the City of your attendance at their event.Â
To register your interest to trade at events organised by the City of Gosnells, complete an expression of interest.
Event organisers
Event organisers must read the City's Event Toolkit that explains responsibilities in relation to holding an event, including the requirements for food trading.Â
You are required to notify the City if food traders are attending your event via the City's Event Trading Notification form.Â
Trading at public locations Â
Any person/business planning to sell food from a temporary food stall or mobile food business in a public place (not an event) within the City of Gosnells requires a Trading Permit.
All forms, supporting documentation and payments should be submitted at least 14 days prior to the required approval date.
