2. Discuss the event with the City

Discuss your event plans with the City bookings team as early as possible. We can guide you on suitable locations, the requirements for holding events in the City and the application process.

Once you have planned your event, we can help guide you through the necessary approvals and permits.

3. Consider funding opportunities

The City of Gosnells runs a Festival and Events grants program that provides funding of up to $20,000 for incorporated, not-for-profit groups to deliver cultural festivals and community events within the City, that are free to the community, attract significant attendance and contribute to a proud and harmonious society.

Healthway funds sports, arts, racing, community activities, health promotion projects and research to inspire Western Australians, especially young people, to live healthier lives.

Lotterywest works with organisations to deliver projects and initiatives that achieve outcomes for Western Australian communities.

4. Select a venue

See a range of parks for hire in the City. 

5. Complete application

For events under 500, complete a booking application for your selected venue or location.

For events over 500, complete an application form for a large public event. In some circumstances this form will need to be completed for smaller events. The bookings or health teams will advise if this is the case.

Please allow at least 8 weeks for your application to be processed. If seeking a grant from the City, allow up to 6 months. 

6. Complete supplementary documents

Depending on the complexity of your event, you may need to gain additional approvals, such as:

  • A liquor permit from the City if you are having alcohol on the premises
  • Occasional permit from the Dept of Local Government, Sport and Cultural if you are selling alcohol
  • Food Trading Permit to sell food from a temporary food stall or mobile food business
  • Arrange for additional rubbish bins (charges apply)
  • A lottery permit may be required if conducting competitions and raffles
  • All generators, electrical cabling, switches etc must be certified by a licensed electrician
  • A traffic management plan will be required if a road is to be fully or partially closed
