Nominations are now open to join the City of Gosnells History and Heritage Advisory Group.

The City is seeking six community members, along with representatives from organisations with relevant expertise, to provide advice and input on history and heritage matters.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said the Advisory Group plays a key role in helping the City to protect heritage assets and promote local history.

“This is a great opportunity to guide the future of heritage in our community and play a part in preserving our rich history,” Mayor Lynes said.

Nominations opened on Monday 1 September and close on Friday 26 September.

The History and Heritage Advisory Group advises on matters aligned with the City’s Heritage Strategy, helping to shape initiatives that reflect the area’s historical significance.

Successful nominees will serve a two-year term beginning in October and are expected to attend six meetings per year with elected member representatives.

Meetings are held bimonthly on the first Thursday of February, April, June, August, October and December, in the morning.

Nomination forms are available on the public notices section on yoursay.gosnells.wa.gov.au.
