City of Gosnells welcomes Councillor Balli Singh

The City of Gosnells Council has welcomed Councillor Balli Singh, who fills the vacancy created by the resignation of former Councillor and Deputy Mayor Adam Hort.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said the Council was pleased to have Cr Singh on board.

“We look forward to working with Cr Singh to represent and serve the City of Gosnells community,” she said.

The appointment of Cr Singh is in line with recent changes to the Local Government Act, which allow vacancies on Council to be filled by the candidates who polled the highest and second highest number of votes without being elected at the last election.

Council will vote for a new Deputy Mayor at the next Council meeting on Tuesday 9 July.
