People who volunteer within the City of Gosnells are invited to a special event on Friday 24 May, from 6pm to 8pm, recognising the importance of volunteers in the community.

Deputy Mayor Adam Hort said volunteers who attend the Celebrating and Caring for Volunteers event at Don Russell Performing Arts Centre would be treated to a massage, entertainment, food and a thank-you bag.

“Volunteers make our community a better place to live, work and visit,” he said.

“They’re the glue that binds our sports clubs, multicultural groups, environmental groups, craft and other interest groups, seniors’ groups, support services, playgroups, schools and much more.

“Volunteers perform many essential roles in our community, from administration and behind-the-scenes coordination, to hands-on tasks such as coaching, weed eradication or driving a bus.

“This event is our way of saying a huge ‘thank you’ to volunteers in the City of Gosnells, and recognising the time, effort and enthusiasm they dedicate to helping others in our community.”

The event will take place during National Volunteer Week.

Registrations are essential by Friday 17 May – email community@gosnells.wa.gov.au or call 9391 6022 to secure your place.
