Get your hands dirty while you make the environment cleaner and greener, as part of the Give Our Bushland a Boost community planting day this weekend.

Community members are encouraged to head down to Cardington Way Reserve in Huntingdale between 9am and 12pm on Sunday 16 June, to help plant 5,000 native seedlings along the Southern River foreshore.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said volunteers could come for an hour or stay the whole morning and were encouraged to bring friends and family along.

“Give Our Bushland a Boost is a fun, family event which will make a practical difference to our local environment, improve biodiversity and make our neighbourhood a better place to live and spend time in,” she said.

“Volunteers can also enjoy a sausage sizzle on the day, as they get to know and help restore their local bushland.”

Remember to bring your own gloves, water bottle and appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for the weather.

Meet at the registration tent opposite Kelvedon Way.
