Celebrate Children's Book Week® at Gosnells Library!

Be inspired by author, scientist, and creative Cristy Burne and have a go at making your own invention. Cristy will discuss the story behind her new graphic novel about inventor Ultraviolet – Down to Business and then guide the children through the thrills and challenges of the scientific discovery process as they have a go at making their own machine.

For children aged 4 years and above

Bookings not required - this is a drop-in style activity. While bookings are not required, spaces are limited and there may be a short wait for a space to become available at the tables.

This event is part of the City of Gosnells Children's Book Week® Festival. Click here to discover all of the FREE activities on offer.

About Cristy Burne

Cristy Burne, AKA the Creativity Queen, is an award-winning internationally published Australian children’s author working on the intersection of story, science, technology and creativity.

Cristy has shared her message of courageous learning and creative thinking with audiences around the world. A science communicator for more than 20 years, Cristy uses her platform as a science writer and children’s author to empower audiences to think critically and creatively.

Cristy’s experience as a science communicator covers six countries, three degrees and jobs that include patent translating, magazine editing and stints at CERN (home of the Large Hadron Collider!), Questacon (as part of a science circus!), and in the back of a ute (as a garbage analyst!).

She has also bungee-jumped, sky-dived, back-packed and (accidentally) exploded sewage on her neighbour.
