Background
The 51-lot Southern River Business Park represents the culmination of two decades of planning by the City of Gosnells and is the largest commercial development undertaken by the City to date.
The land used to create the business park is owned by the City and zoned for commercial and light industrial purposes.
Lots will be available in a range of sizes to suit a wide variety of commercial and light industrial enterprises. Future stages of the business park are likely to include a bulk goods and self-storage precinct, as well as warehouses and workshops.
The release of land at Southern River Business Park follows the City’s successful development and sale of 42 residential lots overlooking extensive public open space at Robinson Park, in 2019 and 2020.
Tribute to residents
In addition to the 51 commercial and light industrial lots, Southern River Business Park will feature three large areas of public open space.
The City is recognising contributions by four local residents by naming two areas of public open space in the business park in their honour.Â
Webster Park will be named after the late Private James (Jim) Clifton Webster, of the Australian Army’s 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, who was killed in action on 21 February 1967, during the Vietnam War, aged just 22.
Petersen Park will be named after late World War II veteran Charles Amos George Victor (Vic) Petersen, his late wife Merle Constance Petersen (nee Swan) and their late son Phillip Petersen. The three family members were all actively involved in a number of local groups and organisations for many years.
Business Park construction
On 12 September Ordinary Council Meeting, Council awarded Densford Civil to be the head contractor for the civil construction works such as drainage, roads, water, sewer and electrical and telecommunication infrastructure of the new business park. The works are expected to commence late 2023 with the proposed completion date in early 2025.
