More than 100 local business owners gathered at Mills Park this morning, focused on initiatives to grow the local economy.

Tools and tips to drive economic recovery, and ways to connect to programs, subsidies, grants, training and other support were hot topics at the City of Gosnells’ BiG Business Breakfast.

Guest speakers included:

  • Senator Michaelia Cash, Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business (via pre-recorded video message)

  • Ken Wyatt, Federal Member for Hasluck and Minister for Indigenous Australians

  • Steve Irons, Federal Member for Swan and Assistant Minister for Vocational Education, Training and Apprenticeships

  • Colin Jorgensen, CEO of Business Station Gosnells

Mayor David Goode said the event was a positive step towards economic recovery.

“Our community has faced significant economic challenges this year and we will continue to face challenges brought about by COVID-19 for many years, however working together as a community is an essential step toward economic recovery,” he said.

“The City of Gosnells is determined to support our business community as we look to grow and develop our economy.”
