Explore the local area and connect with others, all while enjoying the health benefits of cycling as part of the City of Gosnells Bike Week, from 15 – 22 March.

Volunteers will lead two 60 minute leisurely group rides for beginner and intermediate bike riders throughout some of the City’s picturesque parks and reserves.

The rides follow bike paths for the duration of the journey and do not include any steep climbs.

On Sunday 15 March, cyclists depart at 8am from Mills Park in Beckenham and ride to Tom Bateman Reserve in Thornlie, before cycling back.

On Sunday 22 March, the ride leaves at 8am from the Wilkinson Homestead Museum in Gosnells to Mills Park in Beckenham, then returns.

Mayor David Goode said the City will also host a Bicycles for Humanity Collection Day on Wednesday 18 March.

“If you have a spare bike sitting in your garage, I urge you to bring it to our Civic Centre on Albany Highway and donate it to this worthy charity,” he said.

“The bikes are then given to partner organisations around WA and further abroad where they are distributed to people in need.

“Not only does bike riding have mental and physical health benefits, it also provides members of the community with an affordable and sustainable mode of transport.”
