If you want to find out why local students jumped into a watery trench filled with tortoises or why Thornlie’s post mistress couldn’t get too friendly with her customers, then come along to the next City of Gosnells Local History Talk on Saturday 12 June.

Shared Memories: Stories of Everyday Life in the Gosnells District – offers a great way to connect with early life in our City.

Mayor David Goode urged community members with an interest in history and ‘life stories’ not to miss this unique event, being held at the historic Wilkinson Homestead Museum in Gosnells.

“This region has an extraordinary past and there are fascinating stories about the people who settled in this region, grew produce, started businesses, went to school and raised families here,” he said.

This free event will be held from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and bookings are essential, as refreshments will be provided.
