Workshops for Kenwick community

Two workshops will be held this month to provide Kenwick residents with an opportunity to contribute ideas on the programs and activities that could be provided at the refurbished Kenwick Community Centre, once Kenwick Library moves to Mills Park at the end of the year.

Mayor David Goode encouraged Kenwick residents to attend the workshops to help shape the future use of the Kenwick Community Centre.

“We want to be sure the Kenwick Community Centre will be a flexible space that will best meet the needs of the Kenwick community,” he said.

“This is a really important opportunity for local people to have their say on how the new Kenwick Community Centre could best serve them, how they want to use the space, and share suggestions and feedback.”

The $1.2 million relocation of Kenwick Library to Mills Park in Beckenham is largely funded by a Federal Government grant as part of its COVID-19 economic stimulus.

As well as construction of new library facilities at Mills Park, the project will include refurbishment of the existing Kenwick Library building, which will become the Kenwick Community Centre.

The workshops will be held on Wednesday 18 August at the Kenwick Library building from 10.30am to 12.30pm and from 5.30pm to 7.30pm with light refreshments provided.
