City expands Grants Program

The City of Gosnells will expand its Grants Program in 2023/24 to provide increased financial support for local individuals, not for profit incorporated community organisations and local businesses.

The changes include new funding categories for community organisations to run festivals and events and for local small businesses to improve their premises, as well as increased funding for Community Grants and Competition Sponsorships.

Deputy Mayor Adam Hort said the expanded program reflected the City’s commitment to support local individuals, community organisations, and local businesses across a broad range of initiatives and events.

“The Grants Program is a positive and practical way for the City to help build a more vibrant and supportive local community, create strong connections among our residents and assist local people to achieve their goals,” Cr Hort said.

“It’s also a great way for the City to partner with local small business owners and operators, to improve the amenity of our City, attract interest from customers and provide a welcome boost to the local economy.”

The new grants and increased funding are in addition to the recently announced $20,000 extra for Level 1 Community Grants for 2022/23, in response to ongoing strong demand from the community.

“This is all great news for local residents and business owners, and I certainly encourage all eligible individuals, groups and businesses to apply for funding,” Cr Hort said.

“We will have more information about the new categories and increased funding on the City’s website early in July.”
