Bells were ringing, people were singing and a great time was had by all at Jingle All the Way last Saturday.

The annual City of Gosnells Christmas event was another great success, with a crowd of 15,000 people enjoying a festive trail stretching from Centennial Pioneer Park to the Civic Centre Gardens.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said Jingle All the Way was one of her favourite events hosted by the City.

“It’s always lovely to see families and friends coming together to spread cheer and enjoy the great entertainment,” she said.

“There were many highlights for visitors this year, including Santa’s Toybox and Frosty’s Forest, photo opportunities, roving performers, carollers, a fantastic festive concert on the main stage and, of course, Mr and Mrs Claus themselves.”

Winners of the 2024 Safe City Christmas Lights Competition were also announced at the event, with John and Lisa Tenbokkel, of Langford Avenue in Langford, winning $500 for Best Private Residence and Tahoe Close in Thornlie winning $1,000 for Best Decorated Street. The Best First Time Entry was won by Kevin Outten, who also participated in the Tahoe Close street entry. Three runners-up for Best Private Residence included Emma and Adam Campbell of Consulate Court in Thornlie, Mardi Fogliani of Bindoon Loop in Huntingdale, and Brett and Bec MacKenzie of Bindoon Loop in Huntingdale.

“Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who decorated their houses to spread festive cheer in their neighbourhood this year,” Mayor Lynes said.

“Participating houses are listed on the City’s website, so I encourage everyone to take a walk to see the incredible displays in their neighbourhood.”

Visitors to Christmas light displays are asked to be mindful of neighbours and drive safely.
