New Canning Vale park sets tails wagging

Canning Vale dogs and their owners have a new off-leash enclosed dog park to enjoy, with the recent opening of Bracadale Dog Park.

The fenced park is divided into two areas, one for introverted or timid dogs and another for extroverted or boisterous dogs, and features a grassed area, natural shade, covered seating, waste bins and drink fountains with dog bowls. It also includes interactive elements including crawl tunnels, large tyres, an agility ramp and sandpit.

Mayor Terresa Lynes and fellow Councillors explored the new ‘digs’ at the community opening event.

“Bracadale Dog Park was constructed in response to requests from residents, and the City’s existing enclosed dog park at Harmony Fields is already very popular, so we anticipate pet owners and their dogs will enjoy this facility,” she said.

“The park has plenty of fun interactive elements, open grass for running about and playing fetch, good shade, covered seating and water bowls to make it pleasant for human and canine visitors.”

Dog owners are reminded that dogs must be kept under effective control at all times, which means dogs must:
• Respond to commands
• Not act in a threatening or aggressive manner to people or animals
• Not damage flora or injure fauna
• Stay out of lakes and water channels
