Residents in the City of Gosnells are encouraged to ‘light up’ their neighbourhood with festive displays and enter this year’s Safe City Christmas Lights Competition.
Open to residents in the City of Gosnells, the competition offers cash prizes of $500 for the best individual home display and $1,000 for the best street display, plus prizes for runners-up and first-time entries.
“The Safe City Christmas Lights Competition encourages residents to get to know their neighbours and enjoy walking around their neighbourhood, which can provide a sense of community safety,” Mayor Terresa Lynes said.
“Residents and families love getting out and about to enjoy local Christmas light displays in their neighbourhood, and this is a fantastic way to get into the festive spirit and spread Christmas cheer.”
Last year, many entrants gave back to the community by fundraising for their chosen charity.
Entries close on Sunday 8 December and judging will take place on Tuesday 10 December and Wednesday 11 December, with entrants required to leave their lights on from 5pm until 11pm on the judging nights.
Winners will be announced at the City’s popular Jingle all the Way festive event on Saturday 14 December.
