In the shadows of post-WWII London, the city is rebuilding — but secrets still lie beneath the rubble. When a man is found dead in the flat of journalist Bill and playwright Monica Sefton, the couple's quiet domestic routine is shattered. As the investigation unfolds, Monica is horrified to discover that the clues to the murder are eerily mirrored in the pages of her latest play — one she hasn't yet finished.

With suspicion mounting and time running out, Bill and Monica must race to unravel the mystery hidden within her script before the killer strikes again. But as fiction and reality blur, Monica begins to wonder: is she being framed — or is the story writing itself?
