Oct 20 to 26 is Get Online Week in WA this year! Join us at a City of Gosnells Library for a series of free seminars and info sessions about navigating the digital world safely and confidently.

Like any digital tool on the internet, social media has its uses and benefits. These include fostering communication, connection, and creation, and providing platforms for education and entertainment. On the other hand, social media comes with various risks including privacy breaches, misinformation, and negative impacts on our mental health.

In this free presentation, a facilitator from HelpingMinds will discuss social media, the links between social media and mental health issues, and recognising the risks of addiction, cyberbullying, comparison, consequences etc. Attendees of the info session will also learn about:

  • How social media affects young people
  • Promoting healthy and safer social media use (for both children and adults)

Access to available mental health resources will also be discussed.

Adults only. Bookings are essential, and open to the public from the 7th of October 2025. Click here to book your spot!
