Kanopy is an on-demand streaming service that provides library members with free access to a large collection of classic and contemporary films and documentaries. Material includes acclaimed Australian cinema and over 1,700 other movie options including independent cinema, animated films and TV series. There are documentaries and instructional films on science, social science, languages, health, business and contemporary interests such as hair and beauty, cooking, travel and tourism.
Kanopy Kids offers content that helps children develop empathy, mindfulness, and self-esteem through entertaining and educational videos. Categories include TV series, learning languages, read-along storybooks, Anime favourites, classic films and family movies.
Library members can stream videos in the Kanopy mobile app, on the web, or via Roku, Apple TV, and other Smart TVs. Access via Overdrive’s Libby app is also available through its “extras” section. To access these resources, you will need to create a membership with Kanopy and will be asked to supply a valid City of Gosnells library membership number.
