The annual Safe City Christmas Lights Competition is now open!
Let’s light up our community! Decorate your house and street to share the Christmas spirit with your neighbours and the wider community.

Prizes on offer
- Best Decorated Street (five houses or more) - $1,000 prize and a commemorative street sign
- Best Private Residence - $500 prize
- Three Runners Up - Best Private Residence - $100 voucher
- Best First Time Entry - $200 prize
- Two Random Draws - $50 voucher
Residents are invited to take a walk around the City's brightly lit up neighbourhoods, bring the family and visit your neighbours to share in the festivities. Drivers are reminded to be courteous to pedestrians, other drivers and neighbours when viewing the Christmas Lights.
Entry is simple, just complete the entry form.
Terms and Conditions
- Competition is open to residents of the City of Gosnells only.
- Entries are not accepted without submission of minimum three photographs showcasing their 2024 illuminated lights display.
- Entries require a minimum area of 3 x 3 square metres of decorations including a minimum of at least three festive ornaments, lights and/or decorations.
- Photographs submitted will be used for shortlisting candidates for final judging. Attach high quality images.
- The Community Safety Officers assessment of up to 10 finalists is final and no further correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.
- Entrants agree to have their name and address disclosed and property photographed for judging and publicity purposes.
- Entrants agree to their location being advertised on the City’s website for the public to view.
- Only one entry per property will be accepted.
- Entrants must take into consideration their environment and neighbours and must ensure their displays represent no danger to the public.
- First time entrants must not have submitted an application in previous years.
- Consideration must also be given to the noise and the light levels emitted by your display.
- Display must comply with all Council Regulations and By-laws.
- Entries close at midnight on Sunday 8 December 2024.Late entries will notbe accepted.
- Judging of the top 10 displays will take place between 7:30pm and 11pm on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 December 2024. Your display must be completed and illuminated during this period.
- The judges’ decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.
- Entrants will be invited to an Awards presentation held at Jingle All the Way event on Saturday 14 December 2024, where competition winners will be announced.
- Staff and members of the same household and elected members are not eligible to apply.
