The City of Gosnells is seeking casual volunteer bus drivers to help keep local seniors active, connected and engaged in the community.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said the City’s bus service plays a vital role in supporting older residents who can no longer drive.

“The bus service allows people to stay connected in our community, maintain friendships, improve their wellbeing and access support, rather than being isolated at home,” she said.

“Being a Seniors Services bus driver is also a lot of fun. Our drivers meet wonderful people and are supported by an assistant on every trip – it’s a great atmosphere.”

The City is currently looking for back-up bus drivers to fill in when regular drivers are unavailable due to illness or holidays.

To volunteer, you’ll need a minimum LR (Light Rigid) drivers’ licence and trials and training are available.

Volunteers who live outside the City of Gosnells are welcome to participate in Seniors Services programs and events.
