Canning Vale park upgrade complete

Lexington Park in Canning Vale has a fresh new look, thanks to a new playground and barbecue area.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said the $370,000 project included new play equipment, shade sails, rubber softfall and mulch, paths, bike racks, seating, picnic table and a new electric barbecue.

“These additions will complement the existing tennis courts to make the space welcoming and appealing to residents of all ages,” she said.

“Lexington Park is now an ideal location for families and friends to gather, spend time and keep active outdoors.”

The park is also easier to get around, with the new design taking pedestrian movements into account and reducing level changes.

Two original park benches were also refurbished by City staff to extend their life, reduce waste and save costs.
