An abundance of Christmas cheer was on offer in the City of Gosnells at last Saturday’s Jingle All the Way event on Saturday 13 December.
The annual crowd-favourite event was another great success, with bells ringing, people singing and festive spirit filling the air.
Mayor Terresa Lynes said an estimated crowd of 15,000 people enjoyed the accessible Jingle All the Way festive trail, which stretched 1.5km from Centennial Pioneer Park to the Civic Centre Gardens.
“This is one my favourite events hosted by the City because it brings people together in the lead-up to Christmas,” Mayor Lynes said.
“It’s always lovely to see families and friends spreading goodwill and enjoying the great entertainment.”
Highlights of the event included Candy Land, the Frostbite Forest and Reindeer Stables installations, photo opportunities, roving performers, carollers, a fantastic festive concert on the main stage and, of course, appearances by Mr and Mrs Claus.
Winners of the 2025 Safe City Christmas Lights Competition were also announced at the event. John and Lisa Tenbokkel, of Langford Avenue in Langford, won $500 for Best Private Residence, while Tahoe Close in Thornlie took out $1,000 for Best Decorated Street.
Other prize winners included:
• The Best First Time Entry – Alicia Doughty of Consulate Court, Thornlie.
• Best Private Residence Runner-up (one of three) – Mathew Jones of Blakemore Retreat, Huntingdale
• Best Private Residence Runner-up – Mardi and Anthony Fogliani of Bindoon Loop, Huntingdale
• Best Private Residence Runner-up – Brett Douglas of Brigham Court, Gosnells.
“Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who participated by decorating their houses and spreading festive cheer in their neighbourhood,” Mayor Lynes said.
“Participating houses are listed on the City’s website, so I encourage everyone to take a walk to see the incredible displays in their neighbourhood.”
Visitors to Christmas light displays are asked to be mindful of neighbours and drive safely.
