The City of Gosnells once again delivered a spectacular Fusion Food and Culture Festival at Mills Park in Beckenham over the weekend, with a record crowd approaching 50,000 people coming together to celebrate the region’s vibrant cultural diversity.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said feedback from the community for the festival, held on Friday 7 November and Saturday 8 November, had been overwhelmingly positive.

“Fusion Food and Culture Festival brings people together, reflects and celebrates our diverse community and makes people feel proud to live in the City of Gosnells,” she said.

“It’s not just an event, it’s an experience. Fusion sends a powerful message that everyone belongs in our City. It’s no surprise the festival received a National Award for Local Government earlier this year.”

Fusion Festival included live performances across two stages, more than 40 food trucks serving cuisine from around the world, a Global Village, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s The Whale, free kids’ and youth activities, sideshow alley with subsidised carnival rides, roving performers, animatronic creatures in the Global Safari and more, including a fireworks finale each night.

The event was the culmination of months of planning and was proudly supported by Lotterywest, Maddington Central and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions Plastic Free Riverpark Program.
