Ever wondered which bin to use for your rubbish, or how you can reduce your waste?
Switch Your Thinking will present a series of online workshops and resources in the coming months, as part of a new Community Waste Education Campaign.
City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said getting rid of rubbish was always a hot topic in the community.
“Every time we throw something in the bin, it wastes money and resources, but there is another way,” she said.
“If we can stop creating as much waste in the first place, it will be better for our bank accounts and our environment.
“The resources and workshops from Switch Your Thinking are a great place to learn how to sort your waste properly, explore options for recycling and reuse, and how to prevent waste accumulating in the first place.”
Six online workshops will be available through Switch Your Thinking, starting Thursday 4 June, with a new workshop available each month until Tuesday 3 November. The first workshop will be What Goes in Which Bin and Where Does My Waste Go?
New waste education guides are also available on the Be a GREAT Sort page on the City’s website, with new videos expected in the coming weeks.
Switch Your Thinking is a joint initiative of the City of Gosnells, City of Armadale and Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. Its Community Waste Education Campaign is funded by the Waste Authority of Western Australia.
