Grow a greener future in the City of Gosnells by purchasing a tree in the Community Forest, with applications for planting this winter closing on Friday 31 May.

Deputy Mayor Adam Hort said the Community Forest, at John Okey Davis Park in Gosnells, would grow to become a living legacy for future generations.

“There are many different reasons for people to purchase a tree in the Community Forest,” he said.

“It might be to celebrate a birth, marriage or significant life event, to commemorate a loved one, to celebrate a community group or business achievement – one family purchased a tree last year simply because they like trees.

“In time, these trees will grow into a beautiful forest providing fresh air and shade for residents to enjoy, as well as vital habitat for local native animals.”

Trees planted in the Community Forest are large native trees chosen from a selection of species appropriate for the site. Each tree costs $300, which contributes to the cost of buying, planting and establishing the tree.

People or groups who purchase a tree will receive a commemorative certificate and a unique ID for the tree. Dedication names will be displayed together on a plaque at the entrance to the forest.

Any Community Forest applications received after Friday 31 May will be planted in 2025.
