Migrant families and first-generation Australians are invited to share their stories as part of a new City of Gosnells heritage project: Weaving Diversity into City of Gosnells Heritage.
Mayor Terresa Lynes said the project aims to better represent the City’s rich cultural diversity within its heritage collections.
“We’re looking for migrants and first-generation Australians living in the City of Gosnells to share their stories and experiences of settling in the area and being a part of our community,” Mayor Lynes said.
“The project may also lead to a special exhibition celebrating our vibrant multicultural history.”
Residents are encouraged to complete a short survey designed to gather initial information from those interested in contributing.
Participants may also choose to be interviewed or provide an oral history to be kept as part of the City’s Heritage Collection.
Photographs and other historical items of interest are also welcome and may be added to the museum collection or featured in future City events.
