Community events in the City of Gosnells have received a major boost, thanks to major support from Lotterywest.
Mayor Terresa Lynes said a $91,000 Lotterywest grant is expanding the size and scope of the City’s much-loved events, including the Fusion Food and Culture Festival, which attracted almost 50,000 people to Mills Park in Beckenham on 7 and 8 November.
“Community events are an important way to bring people together, enhance life in the City of Gosnells and help our community thrive,” she said.
“The City’s community events are extremely popular, and support from Lotterywest means we can deliver bigger and brighter events without adding to cost-of-living pressures.”
Lotterywest Acting CEO Lorna Pritchard said Lotterywest is proud to support a vibrant summer event series delivered by the City of Gosnells.
“Lotterywest is committed to supporting events that bring people together, giving every Western Australian an opportunity to enjoy their neighbourhood and build community connections,” Ms Pritchard said.
In addition to this month’s Fusion Festival, the $91,000 will support Hoedown at Harmony, Sunset Cinemas, a series of three, free concerts and Showtime for Kids at Don Russell Performing Arts Centre.
