Are you a hands-on creator in need of space to work on your projects? Maybe you're a cosplayer or aspiring fashion designer trying to finish your latest costume/design?
Library Services has the place to meet all your needs!
The CoGLAB, located inside the Amherst Village Library, is the City of Gosnells new and exciting MakerSpace. Library Members can visit the CoGLAB for access to equipment and specialised tools, including:
- 1 x Flashforge Guider IIS 3D Printer (the 3D Printer is only available for use during a facilitated program or event)
- 2 x Elna HD1000 Sewing Machines, plus a Sewing Kit
- 3 x Cricut Units (1 x Cricut Maker, 1 x Cricut Joy, and 1 x Cricut Easipress)
- 1 x Badge-making Kit
- And numerous other MakerSpace Kits!
The CoGLAB is open as a multipurpose study space and creative workspace, available to library members during Amherst Village Library's operating hours.
Bookings for the Sewing machines and Cricut units are essential. Visit or call Amherst Village Library on 9498 9498 to book your time in the CoGLAB.

Frequently asked questions
Are there age restrictions to be in the CoGLAB (MakerSpace) or to use the equipment?
Yes there are! Please note:
• You must be 16 years of age or over to use the MakerSpace equipment and kits unaccompanied.
• Users aged 12 – 15 years may use equipment and MakerSpace kits under adult supervision.
• Under 12s are not permitted in the MakerSpace unless attending a Library Services program/event.
Can we have food or drink in the CoGLAB (MakerSpace)?
No food or drink is allowed in the MakerSpace.
Can I use my own Cricut design space login?
Please note that customers cannot use their own Cricut login and must use the City's. If customers wish to make designs, they must do so using the CoGLAB Cricut tablet, not a personal login. Please consider this when planning your projects.
Do I need to book the badge maker?
The badge maker can be used anytime during library hours if available. Please ask the library staff. For designing your badges, badge sizes available are 25mm and 58mm. Customers will be provided with 5 badges free of charge or can bring their own.
Do you provide any materials?
Customers must bring their own consumables for the sewing and Cricut machines.
