Community members are invited to make a ‘tree-mendous’ difference to the local environment, by taking part in a National Tree Day planting event in the City of Gosnells.

The event will take place from 9am to 12pm on Sunday 26 July, at Hester Park, off Spencer Road in Langford. Please enter via the Hester Park access road.

This year we have an amazing 8,000 native seedlings to plant, which will help to transform this section of the Canning River foreshore; providing habitat and re-establishing important ecological linkages.

Your hard work will be rewarded with a sausage sizzle and a cuppa, as well as the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to protect our beautiful Canning River foreshore.

Please remember to bring a water bottle and gloves. It might be a bit muddy, so wear comfortable clothes and sturdy footwear you don’t mind getting dirty. It’s also a good idea to check the weather forecast closer to the day.

This project is part of the broader Cleaning up the Canning initiative which is funded by the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program with the support of the Cities of Armadale, Canning and Gosnells, the Town of Victoria Park, South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare, Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation, Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group, Water Corporation and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
